Something was wrong. Keagan Davis wasn’t himself.

 

The little boy, two and a half, was visiting his dad and extended family in Oshawa. It was Christmas 2009 and there were lights and dinner and gifts. But Keagan, the kid who always had a smile for everyone, was strangely downcast.

 

“He was very shy, withdrawn,” Keagan’s aunt, Sarah Mallette, recalled later.
